Captain Sports is Sri Lankan, family-owned and operated retailer/whole seller of sporting goods, Apparel, equipment, and accessories. We are committed to providing a convenient and compelling shopping experience for the sportsmen and women in Sri Lanka.
Founded in 2008 by Sujeewa Herath and his spouse Nishanthi Widanage, the first Captain Sports store was located on No. 2, Sri Soratha Mawatha, Gangodawila, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka. And its newest one-stop shop opened at 76, D L Pathirage Mawatha (Wanatha Road), Gangodawila, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka.
The initiative of the Captain Sports was restricted to badminton related products by the owners because both of them are renowned badminton players and Nishanthi was a great badminton player who has held the National Championship for the year 1990.
At this stage Captain Sports Introduced the full range of badminton gear under the international standard Chinese brand “VS” (VENSON) and, the Captain Sports is the registered sole agent for the VS products in the country.
And its newest one-stop shop opened on 6th Feb 2019 and now captain Sports is catering for all games equipment, Apparel, and shoes with world famous brands.

We are also an active contributor for badminton sports tournaments. We have sponsored number of events and most recent being the Mercantile Badminton Tournament.
